Our Take Away Bagasse clamshell Trays are an affordable high quality green option to replace unsustainable plastic trays. Our 100% compostable 8/9 inch 3 compartment clamshell is suitable for both hot and cold food. What makes these trays special is that they are made from sugarcane fibre, it looks and behaves like polyethylene and polypropylene (Plastic) trays. Here’s the green techy bit, the molecules in these sugar fibre based trays slowly absorb water and swell up, causing them to break apart into small fragments that bacteria can digest more readily which then becomes composted soil.
